The steep lakeshore site is sold rock. This custom designed house steps down the hill and does not cut significantly into the slope. No high retaining walls were required.

The home is set at an angle from the road to maximize the views of the lake. The country kitchen and the dining room open onto a south facing deck and screened porch.

Environmentally sensitive materials were used to eliminate any toxic run-off from the house into the lake.

The house was constructed for less than its budget because of the design's respect for the site.
